Cynthia Robinson, Robinsong Founder and
CEO
Cynthia Robinson founded Robinsong Ecological
Restorations in 1990 in Huntsville, Alabama. A decade of forestry-related
experience in Oregon provided her with the skills to serve
an important niche in environmental management.
Robinson began as a landscape contractor establishing backyard
wildlife habitats and providing erosion control and watershed
maintenance. This work created a demand for native plants
that soon led Cynthia to develop North Alabama's first native
plant nursery to serve the growing landscape/habitat design
and construction business there.
In the mid-1990s Robinsong’s focus shifted to commercial
environmental design, consultation and management contracts.
Since 1997 Robinsong has provided restoration services for
lost wildlife habitats and mitigation of wetland losses. Clients
include city, state and federal agencies, farmers, landowners
and private enterprises in need of natural resources management.
Robinsong Ecological Resources Inc. opened Alabama's first
commercial Wetlands Mitigation Bank in 1998, obtaining approval
from eight State and Federal regulators such as EPA and the
US Corps of Engineers. The 650-acre project was designed and
implemented by Robinsong’s Cynthia Robinson and Jo Somers.
Cynthia teaches seminars and provides presentations at many
national and regional conferences such as: The Terrene Institute,
North Alabama Industrial Development Association, The Wildlife
Habitat Council, and the North American Lake Management Society.
Cynthia received her BS Degree from the University of Alabama
in Huntsville, in 1988.
